Adult Level Wilderness Skills & Nature Programing (Age 15+)
Learn more about our Wilderness Skills & Adventures and Adult Nature Programs. Wilderness skills include survival and teambuilding, shelter construction and primitive firemaking. Nature Studies include animal tracking, tree & plant identification, bird walks and natural health classes.
Youth and Family Programs, Camps & Adventures (Ages 1-14)
From toddlers to teens, our youth and family programs offer many exciting opportunities to learn about nature, wilderness survival, and Native and Adirondack culture. Find out about ongoing monthly series and seasonal camps and adventures.
School Field Trips (Primary and Secondary groups)
The Ndakinna Education Center provides custom Nature and Native American programs to suit the needs of both primary and secondary students. Groups that come to Ndakinna return year after year. Let us customize a program that suits your needs.
Ropes Challenge Course (Ages 6 through Adult)
From private groups to integration with our existing camps, survival, and wilderness classes, our new ropes challenge course adds new skills for improving leadership and improved group dynamics via character development.
Cultural Programs & Special Events (All ages)
Our Cultural Programming offers a wide range of Adirondack and Northeastern Native folk arts, music, history, and storytelling. Check the calendar for our seasonal festivals and concerts (and don’t forget scary story night come Halloween!)
Tracker Training Center
Although animal tracking is part of our regular wilderness skills and nature programs, here you can find information about specific certificate programs and professional to advanced level training and expeditions (including courses created for State and Federal Wildlife related agencies).
Alternative College Break & Group Retreats
Over the years, Ndakinna Education Center has offered numerous college break programs, from alternative spring break to global outreach projects. Along with volunteering their time on various Ndakinna led projects, students have a chance to learn more about the environment and our region’s Native American culture.
Martial Arts Programming
As lifelong martial artists, the Bruchac family knows very well how the Martial Arts play a physical and spiritual part in our growing Arts of Life programming at Ndakinna. We offer special Martial Arts camps and training that focus on character develop through the connection of mind, body, and spirit.
