:: Alternative College Break / Group Retreats at Ndakinna ::
The Ndakinna Education Center offers unique, exciting, and educational year-round programs for College students. Located just outside of historic Saratoga Springs NY, Ndakinna is situated on the Marion F. Bruchac Nature Preserve and is a short drive away from the Adirondack State Park. From weekend intensives to week long programs, students at Ndakinna have a chance to both volunteer their time and gain a better appreciation for the regions rich cultural and natural histories. Led by Ndakinna Director author, storyteller and wilderness expert James Bruchac, students can choose from a host of popular programs.

Learning experiences at Ndakinna can include Northeast Native American history and culture, nature awareness, land stewardship, basic wilderness survival and animal tracking to team building and youth programming facilitation. Most groups combining a variety of these selections. Regardless of which programs you choose storytelling, is usually an essential part of all Ndakinna programming. Field trips to local wilderness areas, historical landmarks, as well as to other cultural sites, including to the Kanatsiohareke Mohawk Community in Fonda, NY are also available.

Time at Ndakinna is divided equally between learning and volunteer work. Work options can include trail construction and maintenance, exhibit creation, facility upkeep, maple sugar collection, and office projects.
:: Facilities::
Set in the foothills of the Adirondacks, Ndakinna is located on an 80 acre nature preserve. Our multi-building facility includes several indoor and outdoor presentation spaces, Native American museum, animal track education room, gift shop, and a fitness and martial arts studio. The facility is complete with dormitory housing, multiple bathrooms, showers, and galley kitchen. Free WIFI is available for all visitors.
:: PROGRAM PRICING ::
General Pricing – Pricing rates average $25 per person per night ($1800 minimum for a typical week long programs (6 nights), $700 for weekend programs (2 nights). Food and travel fees are not included. Rates based on an equal volunteer to work bases all others please call. Separate rates also available for multiple week programs and individual students (call 518-583-9958 for info).
