Abenaki Language Workshop Weekend November 2022

Join us at the Ndakinna Education Center for our first in person language gathering since 2019!
Learn the basics of the Abenaki Language from Jesse Bruchac during this weekend workshop. Classes are appropriate for all levels and ages, and include basic conversational Abenaki, language learning games, songs, dances and other creative and fun interactive indoor and outdoor activities. Elements of Immersion will act as a foundation for our weekend together, and language instruction will be offered in a bi-lingual format. Our immersive time together in the Abenaki language will be centered around cultural experiences, our nature preserve, music, and games. Please join us!
Starting at 4 pm Friday, two hour sessions will take place in the morning, afternoon, and evening. Class times are 10am-12 pm, 1-2 pm, 3-5, 8-9 pm. One final Sunday morning session will conclude the weekend, starting at 10 am and wrapping at 12:00 pm. Meals and Housing at Ndakinna included (Feel free to bring additional food and/or drinks for yourself and/or to share!).
Minimum 5 person gathering, maximum 15
This class is donation based, and free and open to the public. We do however have a suggested donation of $150 Standard Level, $250 Donation Level. Scholarships are available to all, classes are open to all! Donations help to pay for refreshments, utilities and heating/cooling costs for the event.
