Beginner/Intermediate Guide to Abenaki Language Course (Online)
November 8 @ 6:00 pm - December 2 @ 8:00 pm
Ndakinna Education Center Abenaki Language Remote Learning Classes:
Beginner and Intermediate Guide to Abenaki
During our Guide to Abenaki, students will learn to confidently construct their own sentences based on carefully selected models. Each class will begin with a single key word that students will then learn more of the language off of. Special focus will be given on the imperative form, as well as the incorporation of adjectives and adverbs. Classes will include games, songs, group activities, and lesson specific worksheets. This month, beginners and intermediate students will work together during our studies.
The focus of this course is Word Endings (ie. 3rd Position, Finals). Luckily, there is a limited set of extremely powerful endings in Abenaki. An understanding of them and how, when, where and why they are applied, will allow us to pluralize, add tense, mood, and to easily clarify all the complex relational aspects and expansions of our Model Phrases as we Loop-Back through and modify their basic forms.
This is a 4 week course taking place November 8th to Dec. 2nd at 6-8pm on Monday, 10 am to 12 pm Tuesday, with an open community game night and review period from 6-8pm on Thursday evenings.
Minimum 10 person class, maximum 25.
