Ndakinna Education Center Abenaki Language Remote Learning Classes:
Conversational Abenaki: Open to all, but recommended for those who have some prior experience with the language. Starting with a review of the Abenaki fundamentals, this course then covers new ground. Focusing on a different key language building block each week, including modeled grammatical usage of the words when, to, from, and at in the Abenaki language. Similar to our Intro to Abenaki Course, classes are taught using elements of immersion, games, songs, stories and built around the Abenaki culture. Includes a certificate of completion in Conversational Abenaki.
Classes include access to the Ndakinna Course Hub on Canvas, with the class schedule, quizzes, activities, and other asynchronous learning tools. There is also bonus access to all our class materials from all sections, a private email server to communicate with other students and faculty, and much more.
This is a 4 week course consisting of online classes taking place December 2nd to 30th. Each week, the class will take place Wednesday evening 6:00-8:00pm. For those that can’t make a day time class, it will be repeated in the evening on Thursday from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM. The class will include a Certificate of Completion for students, and is recommended for anyone wishing to continue on to our Intermediate Course.
Minimum 10 person class, maximum 25.
Suggested Donation: $175 Standard Level, $250 Donation Level. Scholarships Available, Open to All
Additional Open Review Classes Available for Attendees!: Every morning 10:00 am – 12:00 pm and evenings 6:00-8:00 pm.
We encourage you to attend these review classes as your schedule permits. These open reviews are lead by certified Abenaki Language Instructors.
Sunday nights from 6:00-8:00 pm is a community event and game night open to both our Intro and conversational class.
