Ndakinna Fundraiser: How to Make Maple Syrup with a Maple Product Taste Testing

February 23 @ 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm

Feb. 23rd I 6:00-7:30 pm I Suggested Donation: $12 Adults, $7 for Children under 12

Join Retired DEC Forester and long time Maple Producer John Hastings for an evening talk on the history and basics of making Maple Syrup from the trees near your home. Whether you want to set up a few buckets on a couple of trees or run a modern tubing system in a woodlot, learn the necessary steps needed to start producing your own maple syrup for home use or sale. Various maple products will also be available to sample, including maple soda, different grades of maple syrup, maple cream, candy, and maple sugar.

Northshire Books will also be on hand with books on homesteading, outdoor projects, and of course, backyard maple syrup production for beginners. We’re looking forward to this evening how-to with Mr. Hastings.
