Winter Survival and Animal Tracking 101: Teen and Adult

Feb. 10th |10:00 am to 4:30 pm | A full-day animal tracking and winter wilderness skills under the instruction of Jim Bruchac, Ndakinna Director and co-author of Scats & Tracks of The Northeast. Traveling by snowshoe, participants will both explore the stories found in animal tracks they find as well as learn such key winter survival skills as natural insulation, shelter building, fire-making, natural navigation, and more . Dress for the weather and bring a bag lunch. Snowshoe rental available. The morning is spent indoors going over animal track identification and basic survival skills. The afternoon, following lunch, is spent outdoors applying the skills in the 80 acre nature preserve at Ndakinna.
