Winter Wilderness Survival Walkabout: Adult and Teen

Feb. 15th |10:00 am to 5:00 pm | $75-$100 A full-day animal tracking and winter wilderness skills under the instruction of Jim Bruchac, Ndakinna Director and co-author of Scats & Tracks of The Northeast. Traveling on foot or by snowshoe (weather dependent), participants will explore both the stories found in animal tracks they find, as well as learn key winter survival skills such as natural insulation, shelter building, fire-making, natural navigation, and more . Dress for the weather and bring a bag lunch. Snowshoe rental available. The first two hours in the morning is spent indoors going over animal track identification and basic survival skills. Following lunch, the afternoon is spent outdoors applying these skills at a nearby wilderness area.
