Winter Wilderness Survival Walkabout: Adult and Teen

Join wilderness expert and Ndakinna Director Jim Bruchac for a full-day of winter wilderness essentials. Traveling by snowshoe (weather dependent) into the ADK foothills, participants will learn key winter survival skills such as natural insulation, shelter building, fire-making, natural navigation, and rescue signaling. Also an expert tracker, Mr. Bruchac will help interpret any animals signs found along the way. Dress for the weather and bring a bagged lunch. Snowshoe rental available. Class to meet at Ndakinna, and then carpool to a nearby wilderness area. This class is recommended for anyone who spends a healthy amount of time in the outdoors. Participants are encouraged to take part in Saturday’s virtual tracking class also headed by Mr. Bruchac.
